The meeting was called to order by Vice-President John Wilson at 7:00pm. A motion to dispense with the reading of the previous meeting minutes was made and passed without dissent.
Director of Health Benefits Michael Masters
Mike Masters reminded the members that open season is Monday November 13, 2017 - Monday December 11, 2017, this is the time to make changes to your health insurance for next year. To see new rates for 2018 click here Retirees Active carriers
Mike went on to remind members there is an open house for health benefits on November 11, 2017 at the Radisson inn on Jefferson road from 1-7pm
Financial report read to the membership with no questions or comments made.
AFL-CIO Report: Joe Dimaria:
Joe reported there will be the annual delegates diner in December and there will be no meeting as a result for December. The Labor council is looking to try and get younger people active in labor issues. President Montgomery will be attending a planning meeting to figure out how to accomplish this task.
Political Education: the Senate did not pass the House version of the Budget which included cuts to our retirements. The house did approve of the Senate verson which again does NOT include those cuts to our retirements.

Local Contracts to be negotiated October-November.
The color coded calendar is wrong for 2017 concerning Veterans Day. Veteran's Day is November 11, 2017 and the Letter Carriers holiday will be Saturday November 11, 2017.
The union will sponsor a Defensive Driving course through AAA. Cost to union members is $18 per person and is limited to 25 people. Your reservation must be made through the union office at 427-2450 and will only be held by up front payment. Family members are welcome. Place to be decided.
$50 raffle for Postal Pulse Surveys, Next raffle in December
Back pay for Career employees based on the new contract SHOULD be in your paycheck December 1,2017, back pay for CCA's Should be in Paycheck February 9, 2018.
Next contract raise will be November 25, 2017, 1.3% for careers and 2.3% for CCA's. Will see it in your December 15 paycheck.
CFC goes through January 12, 2018, the union recommends the Postal Employees Relief Fund and MDA.
Uniform allowance is now $441, all accounts will be updated with the new amount retro to May 21, 2017 by the end of October. If you don't see the aditional funds by November contact the union office. Call the number on back of your uniform card to hear balance on card.
New Business: Vice-President Wilson:
Steward elections are held in January of every even year. If interested in running for steward in your unit notify the union office by January 4, 2018
A motion was passed to have refreshments at the December union meeting
The Postal Service has changed the promotion rules for those under pay table 2. You will no longer receive a 2 step bump when bidding to a utility position. The Postal Service is trying to implement this rule change retroactively by telling those utilities they will now have to wait 92 weeks for their next step increase. The union is activly fighting this at the National level.
We have signed a contract with Darien Lake for our annual summer picnic. July 8, 2018 and the price will remain the same $25 per person and $10 for season pass holders for the food only.
There will be a national dues increase in Pay period 1 of 2018. the increase is .89 and will be $26.57 going forward in 2018. Dues is set by the National constitution and when you get a pay raise the dues automatically increases.
The next union meeting is open to all members and is Wednesday December 6, 2017 at 7:00pm and will be held at the IBEW union hall located at 2300 East River Road, Rochester NY 14623.
