The meeting was called to order by President Kenny Montgomery at 7:09pm. A motion to dispense with the reading of the previous meeting minutes was made and passed without dissent.

Director of Health Benefits Mike Masters:
Mike Masters Discussed the NALC insurance changes this year including Depression and Diabetes screening, Chiropractic care changes increasing to 24 visits and a $20 co-pay for acupuncture. He went on to give the health benefits report discussing the upcoming open season from November 14 - December 12, 2016. This is the time period to change your health insurance, changes will take affect in January 2017. There will be an open house for all postal employees sponsored by NARFE on Friday November 11, 2016 at the Radisson Inn on Jefferson Road from 1-7pm. If the replacement vehicle your given is worse than the vehicle you reported being unsafe....then don't drive it!
Tom Cook has stepped down as political director therefore President Montgomery has appointed Christopher Roesch to the position. President Montgomery discussed H.R 313, the wounded warriors leave act. This laws allows for 104 hours of leave to a disabled veteran with a 30% or more disability to take time off to get care for his military disability. Any questions on this should be directed to the union office.

The Branch held its annual Retiree Breakfast on Friday October 7 with more than 185 people in attendance giving 50 year cards to 7 members and 60 year pins to 6 members. We also had Business Agent Dan Toth, past business agent Bill Cooke and National Assistant Secretary Treasurer in attendance.
Negotiations are continuing on our contract despite the expiration of our current contract. Both parties have agreed to extend negotiations in an attempt to get a fair contract. We are optimistic for a negotiated agreement.
Letter Carriers are not authorized to ever sign for a customers mail on their behalf. Carrier can be disciplined for signing for someone else's mail, you are not doing your customer a favor by signing for a certified and leaving it in the mailbox. Let the customer sign for it themselves.

New Business: President Montgomery:
Color Coded calendar for 2017 has Veterans day mistakenly marked as November 10. It is actually and always is November 11, 2017.
Penalty overtime exclusionary period is December 3 - December 30. This is the time where there is no penalty overtime
We will be going to Darien Lake again in July for our Summer picnic.
The combined federal campaign is now through December 15th. To donnate to the Postal employees Relief fund designate 10268.
The next union meeting is open to all members and is Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 7:00pm and will be held at the IBEW union hall located at 2300 East River Road, Rochester NY 14623.
