There was a special guest in attendance; Attorney Vincent Moyer was in attendance to explain the program he offers our members which entitles all branch 210 member to a free will and discount rates for home sales. Look for a letter from Mr. Moyer in our next Letter Carrier Review.

Director of Health Benefits Michael Masters:

Mike Masters discussed the NALC Quit for life program where the NALC insurance helps with smoking cessation, and weight loss. Mike went on to discuss the MBA's paid up in 20 years whole life policy. It is a good plan to get life insurance on your children. the younger they are when you start the cheaper the premiums and once they reach 20 years old the cost goes away and they have coverage for life.

Benefit Trust:

Financial report read to the membership with no questions or comments made.

AFL-CIO Report: Joe Dimaria:

UCAN graduates

Political Education:H.R. 756 has been introduced as well as H.R. 760, It is our hope both bills are merged and door to door delivery is protected by H.Res 28 which now has 167 co-sponsors. We do need the help of our members regarding the letter carrier political fund. None of your dues money goes to political campaigns and we need voluntary donations to help get labor friendly people elected. Click Here to go to instruction on how to give. Recommendations are $5 per pay period through payroll deduction but as little as $2 would help greatly.

Unfinished Business: President Montgomery:

Letter Carriers food drive is Saturday May 13, 2017

When going to urgent care at managements instructions make sure a DOCTOR signs the paperwork. At urgent care they will try to tell you it is not needed....they are WRONG. OWCP will deny your claim based soley on the fact there is no DOCTORS signature.

New Business: President Montgomery:

Bring your surveys to the union meeting to be placed in our quarterly raffle for $50

4th annual MDA Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday May 21 shotgun start at 10am. Cost is $75 per golfer and includes 18 holes, cart, lunch and buffet dinner. We also accept hole sponsorships at $100 per hole and a sign will be placed at the hole for your patronage and recognition. There will be drinks provided by the branch as well as a putting contest, closest to the pin and longest drive contest. Branch 210 officers will be sponsoring a $15,000 hole in one contest as well.

Overtime grievances are being filed for all the violations happening as a result of the District Manager decisions. If you are not on the list and are being forced to work overtime see your steward and make sure they are aware so a grievance can be filed. Most important is to fill out your 3996 for the grievance file. the grievance procedure is our only way to stop the violations.

CCA's on holddowns after 60 days of employment should not have their days off switched at management convenience. CCA's should not be sent home or told to stay home if on a holddown and regulars are working overtime. If so see your steward to see if you have a grievance.

The City of Rochester is eliminating our Reserve Regular positions as they become vacant so if your a reserve regular you won't get it back if you bid off of it.

Full count and inspections will be conducted in Fairport, Canandaigua, City zone 14625 and 14606. See your steward for dates. Carrier wishing to have a route inspection class to go over proper procedures for carrying mail notify your steward and we will set something up.

The next union meeting is open to all members and is Wednesday April 5, 2017 at 7:00pm and will be held at the IBEW union hall located at 2300 East River Road, Rochester NY 14623.
