The meeting was called to order by President Kenny Montgomery at 7:04pm. A motion to dispense with the reading of the previous meeting minutes was made and passed without dissent.

Director of Health Benefits Michael Masters:  

Mike Masters discussed open season changes going into affect on January 7, 2017. Dental and vision changes go into affect on January 1, 2017.

Benefit Trust:

As per Branch 210 bylaws, President Montgomery appointed Sam Hogan as the new Benefit Trust Officer beginning January 1, 2017.

AFL-CIO Report: Joe Dimaria:

At the annual awards dinner Chris Roesch from Beechwood was awarded the Apprentice of the year award and CLifford Finn from the GMF was awarded the perfect attendance award. The branch voted to send 3 members to the UCAN training through United Way, Rodney Tull from Westgate, Chris Roesch from Beechwood and Ann Pacher from Irondequoit will be attending and reporting back on their training. UCAN training teaches how to assist other employees with not only work related issues but also help dealing with life issue in general and where you can turn for help.

MDA bowl-a-thon is Sunday January 15 on Ridgeway avenue. $25 per person

 

Penalty overtime is back as of December 31, 2016

 

Vacation bidding should be completed by now, any problems notify the branch office

 

New annual leave balance is available for use on January 7, 2017. You will see it on your January 27 paycheck

 

New Business: President Montgomery:

 

Once we receive a National Contract we will then begin negotiating our local agreements. Let the union office know if there are items in your local contracts you would like changed and we will do our best to negotiate them.

 

Bring your surveys to the union meeting to be placed inour quarterly raffle for $50

 

There is a new members only portal on the nalc.org website.

 

if you get hurt on the job please call the un ion office for advise. Dont wait till your case is messed up to get it fixed. We will help you do it right the first time.

 

The Post Office is hiring Assistant Rural carriers (ARC's) to deliver Amazon packages for Rural territory only. City carriers should be delivering City packages.

 

National is working on the scanner battery issue.

 

Our National Business Agent Dan Toth will be at the February meeting to answer any questions you might have about contract negotiations or hiring freeze.

 

The next union meeting is open to all members and is Wednesday February 1, 2017 at 7:00pm and will be held at the IBEW union hall located at 2300 East River Road, Rochester NY 14623.
